This website is published by The ENS Foundation (“the Foundation”, “we”), a foundation company limited by guarantee incorporated in the Cayman Islands. For the personal data described in this policy, the Foundation is the data controller.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to this website only. Other sites in the ENS ecosystem, including the ENS app, the documentation, and the governance forum, are operated separately and publish their own privacy terms. Those terms, not this one, apply when you use them.
3. What personal data we may collect about you
The site is a set of static pages. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no forms. It sets no cookies and uses no local storage. It runs no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking scripts. It embeds no third-party content: the typeface is served from this site rather than from a font service, and there are no videos, maps, widgets, or social embeds.
The Foundation does not ask you for personal data through this site, does not build profiles of visitors, and does not sell or share personal data with anyone for their own purposes.
4. How we collect your personal data
Serving a page requires the hosting provider to receive the request. In standard server logs, the provider may record the internet protocol (IP) address the request came from, the browser’s user agent string, the page or file requested, and the date and time. The Foundation uses third party service providers to host and deliver this site, and those providers operate these logs.
These logs are a by-product of serving the site. They are not linked to any account, because the site has none, and the Foundation does not use them to identify individual visitors.
5. Reliance on the legitimate interests exception
Where data protection law requires a basis for this processing, we rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site available, secure, and free from abuse.
6. How your personal data is retained
Server logs are kept only as long as they are useful for security and operations, and are then deleted or overwritten by our third party service providers in accordance with their own retention practices. The Foundation keeps no separate copy of them.
7. International transfers of your personal data
The site is served from a content delivery network, which holds copies of these pages on servers in several countries and serves you from one nearby. A request may therefore be logged outside the country you are in, and outside the data protection regime that applies where you live.
8. How your personal data is protected
The site is served only over an encrypted connection. It maintains no database of visitors, because it collects and stores nothing of its own. Access to the hosting account is limited to the people who maintain the site.
9. Third party websites
This site links to sites the Foundation does not control, including the ENS governance forum, the ENS documentation, code repositories, and public records. We are not responsible for what those sites do with your data, and following a link takes you outside this policy.
10. Your right to access and correct your personal data
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data relating to you: to ask what is held, to have it corrected or erased, to object to its processing, or to receive a copy. You may exercise them by writing to us, and we will respond within the period the applicable law allows. Because the site records so little, a request will in most cases return nothing that identifies you.
If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to a data protection authority. In the Cayman Islands, that is the Office of the Ombudsman.

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
